Decorpaint — Case Study

Overview

DecorPaint is an educational website designed to guide homeowners through the process of interior painting and decorating.

The goal was to create a clear, easy-to-follow resource that helps people understand each stage of the process and approach projects with more confidence.

The Starting Point

The project began as a concept, with no existing content or structure in place.

The challenge was to take a broad topic and turn it into something organised and accessible — breaking down the process into clear steps that people could realistically follow.

My Approach

I started by planning the structure of the site.

The focus was on organising the information in a way that felt logical and easy to navigate, allowing users to move through different stages of a project without feeling overwhelmed.

From there, I developed the content for each section, keeping explanations clear and practical so they would be useful to someone with little or no prior experience.

Alongside the structure and content, I created the visual identity of the site — using a softer colour palette and more textured typography to reflect a hands-on, DIY feel.

The overall design was kept simple and consistent, allowing the content to remain the focus while still giving the site a distinct personality.

The Outcome

The result is a structured and easy-to-use website that breaks down interior painting and decorating into clear, manageable steps.

Users can explore different parts of the process, build their understanding, and approach projects with more confidence.

What this means for the project

DecorPaint demonstrates how complex or unfamiliar topics can be simplified through clear structure and thoughtful presentation — turning a large subject into something practical and approachable. The site is scalable and has potential for video content such as tutorials and a blogs section in the future.
